I'm back from my internship at BMW in Munich (which is btw one of the coolest cities I've ever been to)
The internship lasted about 3 months and it was just gurrayt! It's really cool to be sitting amongst some of the guys who've design some of your favourite cars, sketching, talking and discussing about design.
Here is the result of my work there. What you see here was the presentation board I had in my final presentation. It was a mini projest that was recieved quite positively by the guys there, esp. from Adrian van Hooydonk (BMW Chief Designer) and Anders Warming (New Exterior Design Chief). I'm very happy with the result as well, for one because it's something new I worked on, and for another it was also an experiment to find a new rendering and sketching styles (you'll notice the difference when you see the images).
I was told that I left a positive impression there. And Mr. van Hooydonk himself told me that I can come back whenever I need to do an internship during my studies. Isn't that cool?
I won't be able to show everything I did there because we talk here about like 200 sektches if not more. So I thought I'd show here the things I eventually presented there.
it's a huge image so that you have a good view of every sketch.
Some of you may notice a little change in my style. I tried to work more like a designer than an illustrator (like I always do) and that's to save time and to leave more room for interpritation when studying the sketches.
Oh yeah, and the batmobile was done for fun
I did first the sketch you see in the bottom left, then I thought it had a nice mysterious character that it would make a cool Batmobile if painted black
I really hope you like what you see just like the guys at BMW did
